A Good Resume Won’t Help You Unless You Have A Good Job Search Strategy

In this post, I’ll be talking about how your job search strategy is more important than having a good resume.

If you do love reading, let’s get back to it…

Many people think that a good resume is all they need to get their foot in the door and get a good job, but the truth is that a good resume can’t outperform a broken job search strategy, and continuing to focus too much time and effort on your resume can cost you.

Almost everyone believes having a good resume is what will get them the job they want. But most of those people have a broken job strategy and that is what keeps them stuck without even realizing it.

Focusing solely on perfecting your resume could be a big mistake, because what you may not even realize is… that even a great resume can’t out do a broken strategy.

You wouldn’t expect to buy a Porche, or make your car look super fancy and nice and then try to drive somewhere you’ve never been without a map or any directions.

It doesn’t matter how great the car is you’re not going to get there, and it doesn’t matter how great your resume is… without the right strategy, the right map or some accurate directions its pointless and you’re never going to get where you’re going.

No.

Top Career performers start by identifying the key people they want to speak to, contacting them in the right way using the right type of messaging that will compel the right people to help them.

That’s what sets top career performers apart from the masses. The masses are using outdated strategies that keep them running on a treadmill and never getting anywhere including continuing to tweak and perfect their resumes.

So let me ask you, do you really want to keep spending time on things that don’t move the needle in your career?

Like your resume?

Or do you want to start seeing opportunities showing up and doors opening in a way that gives you the power to choose where you want to work, not the other way around.
